WhatsApp Introduces AI Image Generation: Create Personalized Images with Meta AI

Soon, you will be able to generate AI images on WhatsApp

WhatsApp has been rolling out artificial intelligence-based features to its users over the past two months. Now, the popular messaging app is taking this technology a step further with the introduction of a new AI function that generates images of users themselves.

Recently, WhatsApp introduced Meta AI, a tool allowing users to generate images from text and chat with AI to resolve any queries. In the upcoming beta version of WhatsApp, users will be able to generate images based on their own photos. According to WABetaInfo, version 2.24.14.13 of the app includes an informative card announcing this feature. The card states that WhatsApp will only need a generic selfie from the user, which Meta AI can then use to create multiple images based on the user’s instructions within the application.

“This feature allows you to take a selfie once and then ask Meta AI to generate AI images of you,” mentions the information card. To generate an image, simply type “Imagine me…” in the Meta AI chat or use the command “@Meta AI imagine me…” in other WhatsApp chats.

The specific privacy protection measures Meta will implement for this feature are still unclear. However, it is presumed that no one else will be able to generate images of a user without their permission and that the AI model will only respond to the specific command to generate images. Will it be like this in the end?

Stay tuned for more updates as WhatsApp continues to innovate with AI technology.
