Veer Zaara from SRK and Preity Zinta joins the Rs 100 crore club, after a re-release

Veer-Zaara, the timeless masterpiece directed by Yash Chopra, proved to be just as popular 20 years later when it crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the global box office upon its re-release.

Even twenty years after its release, the beloved 2004 film Veer-Zaara by director Yash Chopra demonstrated its continued popularity with viewers. With Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead roles, the movie has now made over Rs 100 crore at the box office worldwide since its September 13 rerelease.

It earned Rs 23 lakh overseas during the re-release, bringing the total revenue from re-releases in September to Rs 1.80 crore. It made Rs 30 lakh when it was re-released in February of this year.

The love drama initially made a total of Rs 98 crore, with gross receipts of Rs 61 crore in India and Rs 37 crore elsewhere. It made an additional Rs 2.5 crore over time. The movie has already earned more above Rs 100 crore globally, at Rs 102.60 crore.

Veer-Zaara, which was produced by Yash Raj Films, was Chopra’s third directing partnership with Shah Rukh, following Dil To Pagal Hai and Darr. Preity, Rani Mukerji, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Kirron Kher, Anupam Kher, and Divya Dutta were among the other actors who starred in the movie. The narrative revolves around the love affair between an Indian soldier and a Pakistani woman, which is shattered when Shah Rukh’s character is jailed in Pakistan. After years apart, Rani Mukerji’s character battles to set him free and bring the pair back together.
